This life is filled with twists and turn
What I thought was figured out I just begin to learn
I thought with wisdom then you can discern
What's right and wrong but to my chagrin I'm spurned
From my path by the wrath of the capricious
Life sees my plan and laughs like it's facetious
But my weakness it isn't egregious
& I'm at weakest but still never speechless
That's when I quiet the mind to follow the soul
Rather let go then hold to hollow control
I never was one to model a role
I think of the past, sipping bottles of clos
Then I quiet the mind, start writing a rhyme
& tell myself I'm not gon be frightened this time
Cuz what is frightening is also enlightening
So bring it on! Life change I'm inviting
