Short Fuse

I used to see myself as even-keeled
But recently my vision has become more clear
My fuse is shorter than I thought it was
My patience doesn't last the way I think it does
A little more responsibility
And a little less sleep
If you pair these together you'll find
Who you really turned out to be

And I'm only being honest
I know it's not okay
I'm just a kid who still wants to have everything his way
And you know I'm really trying
To have some self-control
But sometimes I still want something to pick up and throw

Most of the time I'm fine, it's no big deal
And I can keep my cool no matter what I feel
Yeah, I put on a smile for sake of peace
When all the while a storm is swelling underneath
Well it's something that I'm dealing with
Isn't everyone else
Don't act like a child unless you want to make
A fool of yourself

And I'm only being honest
I know it's not okay
I'm just a kid who still wants to have everything his way
And you know I'm really trying
To have some self-control
But sometimes I still want something to pick up and throw

It's so easy on the outside looking in
But not when all my walls start wearing thin

Take deep breaths, count to ten
I've heard it all, but you can tell me again

And I'm only being honest
I know it's not okay
I'm just a kid who still wants to have everything his way
And you know I'm really trying
To show some self-control
But sometimes I still want something to pick up and throw
Sometimes I still want something to pick up and throw

Something to pick up and throw
Something to pick up and throw
Something to pick up and throw
