Veins

So quiet and sad, she stays in the dark
Her eyes are opened but the world seems so distorted
She's so unimpressed, there's no single spark
She was afraid of fire and so she turned to water

Try to see in the dark, what used to be sharp, is becoming an illusion
When it flows through the veins, purging your brain, seizing your mind
You feel love that is wrong, you bite your own tongue, you doubt your own future
Draw the line that divides the wrong from the right
And let's step aside

We see the world existing on the coast of everlasting ocean
We lock away our minds and face the shadows falling in the dawn
The waves will scatter us but we will find each other with devotion
Write down our poetry, then crumple it and tear it all apart
