Industrial Spirit

I drive at high speed through the city at night
Alive with a range of neon lights
The city never sleeps and it keeps me awake
I rush through and collapse at daybreak

I watch as my life slips out of my hands
Trying to keep up with all demands
Modern life's apparent beauty
Is no match for its inherent cruelty

I just want to fly away
Try to find a better place to stay
'Cause I don't want to live my life this way
It seems to get the better of me these days

But I hang on!

Life is an endless series of twists and turns
Some possibilities remain, some bridges burned
Faced with my own enduring indecision
I long to have clarity of vision

I drive at high speed through the city at night
Alive with a range of neon lights
The city never sleeps and it keeps me awake
I rush through and collapse at daybreak

I just want to fly away
Try to find a better place to stay
'Cause I don't want to live my life this way
It seems to get the better of me these days

But I hang on!
