Better Me

It's like walking through sinking sand
I struggle to put on a brave face
But my smile betrays me
Im stuck and I can not get out
I sink down the more I try to grow and change

And I don't push myself oh I'm scared if I do
I won't measure up no I can't prove

Can I be better at being who I am?

So heavy, why do we carry our doubt and shame all over the place?
Try to give myself grace, but I falter because I am afraid
Of what they will say

And I don't open up oh I'm scared if I do
My weakness will give them the proof

Can I better at being who I am?
Can I be better at loving who I am?

I can forgive myself when all my jumbled words don't come out right
I can have patience with myself when I am having a rough time
I can love myself so I can love the others in my life
And I'll be better at being who I am

And I'll be better at loving who I love
And I'll be better at loving who I love
And I'll be better at loving who I love
And I'll be better at loving who I love
