Cosmic Background

In the beginning of what we know as space and time
There is a great catastrophe which swept through the land of the divine
The one in which separates men from the gods
The great barrier in which entices peculiar thoughts
This divide of sorts that keeps us guessing
From where did we come? And what is it that we're missing?
What keeps us from holding tangible relation?
With God in the sky beyond cosmic background radiation
A signet, a sigil or whatever it is you'd call it
Depicts the sun and the moon and love and befallen
With tired eyes and thoughts of desperate unfairness
For they know that this will be the last embrace that they'll cherish
An explosion in the sky blew them miles apart
Amidst the strange catastrophe that erupted in the stars
Now the souls of the stars remain in our hearts, maybe
One day we'll all go back to where it starts
