Pack Your Bags

I grew up in the USA
Crossed the border for the third grade
Canada to Northern Maine
Difficult move for only being eight
& I lost my mother at an early age
When she went to heaven we had different last names
I could never forget that day
But I'm tryin' to move on tryna turn the page

You can pack your bags but you can't run away
You can relocate but it all stays the same
You can pack your bags but you can't run away
From pain

Gettin' real tired of living in a temporary place
Need to settle down find a reason to stay
I thought I'd move to California its a beautiful state
It wasn't soon I was leaving I was going my way

You can pack your bags but you can't run away
You can relocate but it all stays the same
You can pack your bags but you can't run away
From pain

Don't expect to step on that plane
& have it all just fade
You gotta deal with all the hurt and mistakes
Or they'll follow you straight to the grave

You can pack your bags but you can't run away
You can relocate but it all stays the same
You can pack your bags but you can't run away
From pain
