Eschaton

The earth stood still, or so it seemed
When world war three was announced on the TV
Hecticity filled the streets internationally
Bombs defaced our entire world in a single heartbeat

Every breath we take burns
The world we knew lays deformed
The monsters within us one
It was atomic annihilation

The blasts of light sent most running home
Some accepted their fates, and watched the show
Some were the lucky ones, their shelters were made of stone
Billions dead, and millions more scavenging irradiated cities
Oh my god!

As we walked through the streets
We stepped over the bodies of the deceased
This world has been exchanged
For a desolated catastrophe
The trajectory of humanity was calculated falsely
Where do we go from here in this wasteland?

Our homes are ashes in the breeze
Our friends, and our families are gone
They're gone
Grandchildren will share stories
Of their grandparents apathy
As the world burned
