A Word with God
Dear God
Can I have a moment to talk to you
Some things running through my mind
I need some walking through
If you make a happy home
Is that for apartments too?
I'm just askin because many
Don't have the heart to do
I know I'm your son
So Father can you speak to me?
Cuz everything I'm seeing in this world
Has started eatin' me
How are some good people still homeless?
Those doin the devil's work
Chillin, sippin Coronas?
The Bible is one thing
But many refuse to listen
And I'm taunted everyday
Because openly I'm a Christian
And these kids misguided
Because they witness online everyday
What should've been left in private
Half-naked women, hopin' somebody like it
Glorifications of fights, racism and side chicks
I see everyday
That we are prepped for war
But confused on what everybody
Thinks they are fighting for
Since they banned you from schools
There's a new shooting every week
They just copyin' what's cool
Cuz when the guns were on IG
Everybody was liking and commenting
Like "I wish somebody would try me!"
These thugs in the streets
Say they don't believe
But always shout your name
As soon as they start to leak and bleed
In society where cops kill blacks often
Is being black the solution?
Or just a bigger problem?
Michael didn't deserve it, he wasn't perfect
But his life should've been preserved
Instead of treated as worthless
Still striving for angel wings
Although I see the devil everyday tempting me
By flashin' all the finer things
How many more funerals?
The other day I saw a mother take her life
Because a brother took her 2 year-old
So many lose their soul
Because they chase money and fame
And can't figure out how to reach their goals
Summer season's when it's cold
Not the breeze
But the hearts of these cowards
Who continue to let them bullets go
I was taught to pull it slow
And let it bang until every one in the chamber's gone
Now I push to change my own
They tell me I should chase the throne
But a King'll get murdered over his dreams
Cuz intelligence is the danger zone
Get X'd like Malcolm did
Cuz they'll kill you over the powder
I ain't referring to the talcum kid
How many reach out to the kids?
To tell em you ain't gotta ball or rap
To figure out a route to live
I ask you knowing
That you make room for favors
Our Father who art in heaven
I'm just resuming prayer
Our Father who art in heaven
I'm just resuming prayer
Dear God
