Decomposition Island
I watched my self portrait on your wall fall
The glue was not strong
So you put it up securely
Keeping the dirt off me
It made me see
That I looked best when I was clean
But now dirt surrounds me
From toes to teeth
My skin cracks leaving me
Open to company
That foster life in my chest cavity
Disintegrating
As maggots find
A home in me
They thrive
Inside my
Bloated body
I have found my new calling
As a decomposition island
But my maggot friends will leave when
I dry up leaving no food for them
The glue was not strong
So you put it up securely
Keeping the dirt off me
It made me see
That I looked best when I was clean
But now dirt surrounds me
From toes to teeth
My skin cracks leaving me
Open to company
That foster life in my chest cavity
Disintegrating
As maggots find
A home in me
They thrive
Inside my
Bloated body
I have found my new calling
As a decomposition island
But my maggot friends will leave when
I dry up leaving no food for them
