The Stealer

I've been to a place that folk ought not to go
It's not of this world and the cost to get there is your soul
You think it don't matter when you're young cos you live
So recklessly but when it's time to pay
It's not easy it's not easy

I got pulled so low that I could hardly breathe
Everything I saw made it impossible to be
How did it happen that my life turned into misery
How did I lose my way
And get deceived get deceived

I got to the point where my end came into sight
I remember that I used to wake up in the night
Thinking there is no answer no point in going on
My heart was empty, my soul was gone it was gone.

Folk said time's a healer but it did n't work for me
Cos I had met the stealer and I was on my knees
But then something happened that changed things
Love reached out to me and when I let it in
I could sing I could sing

I had struggled on through so many lonely nights
Then right out of the blue our paths seemed to collide
I couldn't answer the questions I didn't know the reason why but we both knew for sure
That this was right this was right
