Work-Shy

Everyone I knew at school works at the supermarket
I guess that everyone has got to get themselves started
Somewhere
But why there
Their tired faces look so miserable to me
Their tired faces make them look like they're forty-three
Unfortunately
Money doesn't grow on trees
I couldn't cope being another drone within the hive
Work myself to death so I can afford to survive
Until I die
Without a reason why
Is it really worth me even having any dreams
That I will probably never have the means
To achieve
At least that's what it seems

Devil devil you've donned your dress
Now it's time to be destroyed with the rest
There's no place for you in society
If you choose to be work-shy and lazy
It's okay sometimes to be miserable
That's no reason to be incapable
Life's nothing but what you make out of it
There exists no reason for you to quit
You may have lost your childhood niceness
We've all had to make our sacrifices
You shouldn't lament having no free time
The world is everyone's not just yours or mine

I was twenty-one when I started to write this song
I'm twenty-two now but I won't be for very long
It feels wrong
How fast the time has gone
