Inferno (Divina Commedia)

A poet on a journey
To salvation's straight way
The selva oscura
Has led him astray

The three beasts of sin
Drive him down into the deep
Where the sun is silent
A stranger hears him weep

Divine Love has sent him
Through Compassion and Grace
And so they start their journey
And enter the gate

We enter the city
Like in ninth canto
Dis, divina commedia
We enter the city
Like in ninth canto
Welcome to inferno

'Abandon all hope, ye who enter here'
The Uncommitted surround them
Their sides were too unclear

They wish to cross the water
When denied by Charon
The poet says it's the will
It's the will of the one

Trapped in the water
To never be freed
The violent are fighting
Hear their eternal screams

We enter the city
Like in ninth canto
Dis, divina commedia
We enter the city
Like in ninth canto
Welcome to inferno

The wickedness increases
Closer to the wall
The city of Dis that holds
The worst of them all

The outskirts are inhibited
By those of ill-will
By those who hold grudges
The wrathful, if you will

The red-hot walls embrace the inner rings
Trapped in ice the holy Lucifer sings

A lullaby to the unholy
Of recognition of sin
Of embracing the violence
That rages within

We enter the city
Like in ninth canto
Dis, divina commedia
We enter the city
Like in ninth canto
Welcome to inferno

We enter the city
Like in ninth canto
Dis, divina commedia
We enter the city
Like in ninth canto
Welcome to inferno

Welcome to inferno
Welcome to inferno
