(2020)
Back in early 2006, I was very pissed off
Everyone who I thought were my friends at the time
They offered nothing except a laugh behind my back
I felt hurt, betrayed, and flat-out broken
Aimlessly struggling through life, just barely existing
One night while fumbling around the internet
I came across a beat titled Redemption
And instantly I felt I had to write something
What became Back on the Mic had sparked the beginnings of a New Era
And a handful of songs later I was putting out my debut album
Unfortunately, while it was being printed
My computer crashed and I lost all the project files
All that was left was the master that was sent to the printer
And the 100 copies they delivered
When the CDs finally sold out, it was posted as MP3's online for free
Where it remained until we shut down in 2009
Falling further into the abyss of forgotten music
Until now
Everyone who I thought were my friends at the time
They offered nothing except a laugh behind my back
I felt hurt, betrayed, and flat-out broken
Aimlessly struggling through life, just barely existing
One night while fumbling around the internet
I came across a beat titled Redemption
And instantly I felt I had to write something
What became Back on the Mic had sparked the beginnings of a New Era
And a handful of songs later I was putting out my debut album
Unfortunately, while it was being printed
My computer crashed and I lost all the project files
All that was left was the master that was sent to the printer
And the 100 copies they delivered
When the CDs finally sold out, it was posted as MP3's online for free
Where it remained until we shut down in 2009
Falling further into the abyss of forgotten music
Until now
