Home

Going home always seemed a little strange
My bedroom never seemed the same
When I left home I left behind all the worry
My folks split up when I was ten
Christmas, birthdays we would spend
All our time driving around in a hurry

Where I'd end up is where I was from
Home for me always made me worry
People I would meet along the way
And the ones nice enough to let me stay
Help me feel OK

I turned 16 and I bought a car
That blue Mustang could take me far
Past Fields of corn and the place they called home
For me it just was not the same
Don't get me wrong I take the blame
College was my chance to get away
Where I'd end up is where I was from
Home for me just brought on worry
People I would meet along the way
And the ones nice enough to let me stay
Help me feel OK

One day I met a girl
I was living half across the world
Would you know she was from back home
Her green eyes, and a heart of gold
It wasn't long 'till love took hold
Suddenly I never felt alone
We were married in the church
In the hometown where we were born
With family there we danced the night away

Where we end up is where are from
I looked at her and I knew we wouldn't stay
Life is full of things turns along the way
When you're with the one you love you'll be ok
And home is never far away
