The Debate
You know the victim of the system is us, it's a reality
And we ain't even making enough, in actuality
When you see them dollars deduct, out of ya salary
It's kinda hard for us to support a municipality
The government controlling the hood wit they brutality
And all we see is tragedy overcoming it gradually
Take away our sanity never giving us clarity
Now we taking charity driven by solidarity
See they give us hope, then they go and take it back
What a joke, they deliver that dope that's in ya pack check it
When I put it in song it's for the record
We should get involved they ball'll get intercepted
And we don't even know what we lost and shoulda kept
Thought we had it all in our palms until it left
Unless you wanna stay where you are, take a step
Pull along side of they cars and take a left
The homie facing four different charges
By the time they arraign him he spend 100k on lawyers and bondsmen
And then they tell him when he free, don't run back to the streets but
Ain't no jobs for felons that gone let his ass eat
But how you push somebody down and tell em get on they feet
When you know he got a family to feed, listen
It's all about the politics, Bloomberg stop and frisk
Profit off the prisons cuz the warden paid the lobbyists
And he's in the pockets of the judges and the congressmen
David vs Goliath except the sling ain't got no rocks in it
Instead they put them rocks on our blocks, the same blocks where
You take out your wallet and get (blurt) by the cops yeah
But they don't need no warrants to knock, they barging in
Today they take what somebody got, and then it start again
Tomorrow, cuz someone just gone slide in yo spot here
The cycle keep on going if you like it or not, I told em
I tried to tell 'em from the jump but they ain't tryna listen
Focus on yourself not the government assistance we currently live wit
Current situation ain't none of they business
All I see these kids doing now is prescriptions, shit some of them missing
Talking to they fam but really none of em miss em
Shouldn't play around when it come to addiction
It's fundamental but the mental health system is a prison
It's fucking ridiculous
Living like slaves to college tuition, bring it to fruition
Politicians lie falsifying ambitions at the podium
We don't pay attention but we vote for them
Trump administration worried how that wall going up
But not bout the Coronavirus death toll blowing up
Feeling like we hustling backwards
So before I gotta go to court I better handle these taxes
And we ain't even making enough, in actuality
