Oleander (Flaming June)

I only paint things
In different shades
Of purple and blue
All the colours of you
All of my paintings
Are different shades
Like the Flaming June
In my dreams, I'll see you

I fall asleep to your melody
Repeating in my ears
My mind feeds on fluorescent dreams
Fleeting as they disappear

And through a sea of blended hues of green
I'm sinking down, through the cracks of my sanity

I only paint things
In different shades
Of purple and blue
All the colours of you
All of my paintings
Are different shades
Like the Flaming June
In my dreams, I'll see you

A mass of art I create is stained deep red with pain
Feel like not a thing that I say can relate to anyone or anything
If my life imitates my art am I doomed to break apart
From parts unknown down to the pink of the marrow of my brittle, broken bones

I only paint things
In different shades
Of purple and blue
All the colours of you
All of my paintings
Are different shades
Like the Flaming June
In my dreams, I'll see you

Nothing can replace the taste
Of your lips, scarlet stained
