Turns and Returns

Turns and returns to the places I've been
Back to your shores and domestic scenes
I fled back then, to return as a king
But no one's a prophet at home, it seems

Don't talk to me in such a foolish tone
I made mistakes, but these made me strong
I needed rebellion, ideals of my own
An identity so that I could go on

I chased it all away
I let my ego swell and I was wrong
I just came back to say
That what I wove as truths has come undone
Now I understand
That though I'll leave again, I'll call you home
Don't turn your back on me
Just cause I'll keep chasing where I belong

Leaving and living, with or without you
I plan to stay faithful to my principles
We'll keep on arguing cause that's what we do
Just treat me with respect, and honesty too

Don't talk to me in such a foolish tone
I made mistakes, but these made me strong
I needed rebellion, ideals of my own
An identity so that I could go on

I chased it all away
I let my ego swell and I was wrong
I just came back to say
That what I wove as truths has come undone
Now I understand
That though I'll leave again, I'll call you home
Don't turn your back on me
Just cause I'll keep chasing where I belong
