All Up In the Air

I got my hands out in front of me
In dark room I can't see
A point of reference to know where I am
I follow blindly the way forward
Don't know what I am getting in to
I want a star that I can follow
A trodden path on the way home

I've never been here before but
I've always felt about the same way
The same old me in a new display
Maybe it comes as you go on
I'm flying under the radar
Maybe it's there in plain sight
I want it bright as the daylight

It's all up in the air
I can't ground myself right here
Tossed by every wind of inquiry
Look up and have no fear
The cloudy skies will clear
As you find your purpose there down at your feet

As I move I start to catch on
And not lose heart when something goes wrong
It's easy to get down but not back up
I try to judge my progress
Based on imaginary prospects
You see you don't know anything yet

It's all up in the air
Every journey starts somewhere
Don't be tossed by every wind of disbelief
Look up and have no fear
It's not wrong to shed a tear
As you find your purpose there down at your feet

So don't lose hope
You'll be there before you know
Don't worry or boast in the mystery
Just do what you know
Don't be scared of what you don't
Just give it a chance just wait and see
Not every dream you dream is make believe

It's up in the air
Every journey starts right here
Don't give up on where you go with one defeat
Look up and have no fear
The stars will reappear
As you find a purpose bigger than you dreamed
As you find your purpose there down at your feet
