Safar (The Journey)

Without courage, the destination can not be reached
Confined at home Everest can not be scaled

Those who are harboured in mud houses
Often are big-hearted

How dare someone call you a counterfeit coin?
A self-respecting man would never such barbs own

My desire is to reach another shore
Without grit, no ocean can be crossed

Wealth alone does not make one rich
Kind deeds too the pockets enrich

Why would you be afraid, if time tries to scare you?
Seldom does a spirited man die

Birds cover a distance of miles
Though their wings are small and delicate

The flame of 'lamp' is the 'soul' of mine
Thus heart and brain are made to illumine

Without Guru, one cannot gain knowledge
Though much illumined the house may remain
