Haiku

Morning light, fresh dew
Love, I wrote you a haiku
Seventeen sweet sounds.

Daybreak, and stars sleep.
The clouds form and the sky weeps.
Rain falls, the ink seeps.

Rorschach of words lost.
Ebony swirls of my thoughts.
Paper, melting frost.

The pen dries, lead breaks.
Sonnets are torn and hearts ache.
Heavens rend, earth quakes.

Smile forms a heart stent.
Sound is comfortably silent.
Words fail and day spent.

Morning, a fresh view.
Love, though I lost your haiku.
Poetry is you.
