Was searching for a few words I could say to you

And now the hunt
Is no longer only just another game for two

Well the eastern shadow drew long as the day was slowly coming to an end
But the watchful crows and magpies didn't seem to care or run along to bed
All the stray cats and stray dogs had found some comfort and some dinner in an alleyway
Though the kitchen door was open, they didn't shy or try to run away

Though they say this world
Is slowly coming to and end
Well I try and I try
To still enjoy it with my friends

And I thought you'd like
To maybe come along and spend some time with us
And brighten up your day
But if you don't that's fine
Though the offer still remains

Was waiting for a year to finally go my way
And still I'm waiting, but it's looking good so far
And as I wait
I watch as all the animals fulfill their days
And I take comfort, maybe everything's OK

Well the western shadows creep along to slowly join their masters in the new sunshine
And the frost on all the lawns is slowly thawing as we meet another day
And all the stray cats and stray dogs begin their search for any scraps left in those alleyways
And the city spings to life before I've even walked away from my front door

Though they say this world
Is slowly coming to and end

To still enjoy it with my friends
