Vignettes of Romance

Every now and then I go back to the beginning
When I'm out on the road and I'm feeling like mold
I come here
To relive and visualize
The moments before we even thought about today
Things probably meant more in this lot
They were easier together
Though still painful apart

I can still feel your tight embrace the day my cat passed away;
Just a month of intimacy, you bared my tears
And as the sun goes down
I am thinking of Ohio
If we could have that every day, I think we'd be okay
You're probably asleep, so my burning heart you won't see
It's always just the comedown
Find my sustained, restrained

It seems we only end up
In the woods when unwell
But it's a beautiful view though

When I was younger
I wrote a letter
To whoever, whenever
I take it with a grain of salt, but I still read it now and then
It said...

"Dream a thousand dreams
And chase each and every one
Maybe they'll all come true."

I wrote my letter before the flood
I kept it dry, and I kept it warm
Cause in my dreams, I don't wanna die
So I chased, and somehow I ended up
With the girl that I dreamed about for two summers
And life still hurts like hell
But every now and then
When I'm out on the road
And I'm feeling like mold

I go back to the beginning
I go back to imperfection
I dream about Ohio;
Let it carry me home
