House on the Highway
I grew up in a house on the highway – and down the road a three room school and go-kart track
Those were – long hot summer days – my friends and I we tried to grow up fast
We - learned hard lessons in the house on the highway – get smacked up side the head
I learned to live with that
We got in – trouble every second day – my friends and I were surely going to hell
Since then I moved away, once in a while we get back together
We're still friends, from way back then
Those were some crazy days - isn't it good when we can share the things we did –
And laugh again
Friends have come and gone – I do what I can – remembering them
Remembering teen-age days – some sad
And we would raise - all kinds of hell - and be good on Sundays
No matter - what we do –it seems we all learn the hard way
And one by one – we end up on a beaten path
You know that - life gets in the way – we move ahead – there is no turning back
I had 5 brothers in the house on the highway – the workers tore it down – the city came to town
Who knew that – time was gonna slip away – and everybody's rising sun goes down
We all just moved away, once in a while we get back together
We're still friends, from way back then
Those were some crazy days - isn't it good when we can share the things we did
And laugh again – while you can
Friends have come and gone – I do what I can – remembering them
Remembering teen-age days – some sad
And we would raise - all kinds of hell – and be good on Sundays
Those were – long hot summer days – my friends and I we tried to grow up fast
