Again

Hello for the first time it seems
Why's this such an awkward greet?
Maybe you got tongue-tied or forgot how to speak
But I got this feeling this isn't where I should be
From across the room I looked too many times
Till I thought it was safe to come and say "hi"
I played the "you're a stranger game" I guess that felt right
But maybe I shouldn't have come here tonight

Holding on to what's left
Is too big a battle on my own
Maybe I imagined it or my mind
Was playing tricks on me
I should probably leave
Before I say something stupid
I'm feeling uneasy and
I don't know what to say
It's nice to see you again
And I'll meet you for the first time again

On the drive home, I thought of reasons why
Also thought of giving up cause I never wanna try
I keep looking back to those talking eyes
And now you've got me thinking about the next time

Holding on to what's left
Is too big a battle on my own
Maybe I imagined it or my mind
Was playing tricks on me
I should probably leave
Before I say something stupid
I'm feeling uneasy and
I don't know what to say
It's nice to see you again
And I'll meet you for the first time again
