Aussie Accent

All of my life I've been chasing the beauty of music
Not only to use it in what I create, but discourse with the friends that I've made
Talking for hours bout the knowledge I've gained
Human behaviour or stories thats shared
I can talk for hours about Kendrick Lamar
Sing Billy Joel with mates at the bar
Vibe to Frank Ocean who's touched my heart
Groove to the likes of Duckwrth and Saba
Playing guitar since I was 9
Half a year later a saxophones mine
Building my skills from when I was 4
Drumming to jungle book, dropping mums jaw
But what does this matter when nobody cares
Prejudice flying, prejudgment exists
Beauty in people not only outside
But the character, morals and thoughts from inside

All they see is my Aussie accent, colour of skin
Way that I speak, follicles left
Iranian genes, what about the side thats within me
All they see is my Aussie accent, colour of skin
Way that I speak, follicles left
Iranian genes, what about the side thats within me

World fell apart when I was 10
Many relationships led to dead ends
Present still struggle with trust
Due to so many unfortunate stuff
Bluffing to all of the world
Shoving my morals deep into a hole
Darkness replaced the light that shone bright
Destruction, despair, eternal night
What makes it worse is that I didn't care
Or unaware, or terribly scared
Being the black sheep
Living by morals my faith has taught me
Feeding the culture of pride and ego
Easily swayed by those idolised heroes
Acting a fool so they land up in home
Too many homelanders to navigate good
Negative forces to navigate good
Not enough role models to stand up for good
Felt trapped in a world where it felt so cold
No role models but I'm here right now
Only through my music I found
The beauty and attraction to light
Sole reason I lifted myself and was ready to fight
With all of my light, opened my eyes so I could
Swerve the darkness among the bright, but

All they see is my Aussie accent, colour of skin
Way that I speak, follicles left
Iranian genes, what about the side thats within me
All they see is my Aussie accent, colour of skin
Way that I speak, follicles left
Iranian genes, what about the side thats within me

Got a message from one of my friends
I'm moving away so I could use some help
I mentor a group, of junior youth that
Focus on spiritual growth and service
After struggling in search for purpose
I stepped away from comfort feeling worthless
Took on the task that I didn't deserve
But it changed my life, I'll never return
Thousands of people in Perth alone
Work shoulder to shoulder to improve the world
Advancing the world through spiritual means
But never neglecting material needs
Attracting the hearts and planting the seeds
That'll grow into fruits for communities
Feeding the spirit with what the soul pleads
Helping others to grow qualities

Beauty in people not only outside
But the character, morals and thoughts from inside
But what does this matter when nobody cares
Prejudice flying, prejudgment exists
Beauty in people not only outside
But the character, morals and thoughts from inside
But what does this matter when nobody cares
Prejudice flying, prejudgment exists
Beauty in people not only outside
But the character, morals and thoughts from inside
But what does this matter when nobody cares
Prejudice flying, prejudgment exists
Beauty in people not only outside
But the character, morals and thoughts from inside
But what does this matter when nobody cares
All they see is my, Aussie accent
