The Legend of Ruben
He was a crazy man with no shame on his brain
But everyone loved him even though he was insane
Eternal trip that he was on
Made sure his mind was always gone
Fried his brain accidentally
Now he sees everything mentally
Sweetest man that you could know
But when he went crazy it was quite a show
He liked to ride his bike and talk
To his imaginary friends
It was like schizophrenia all over again
(We called him)
Ruben the Cuban
Even though he was a mexican
Ruben the Cuban
Man, I wish we could see him again
He walked around this city (What a pity)
He didn't have a car nor a house nor a phone
He walked around this town alone
No place to call his home
But everyone he met, they all loved him
Even though his hallucinations did quite stun them
He liked to talk to statues a lot
And right around here is the spot
Where I saw him for the first time
(We called him)
Ruben the Cuban
Even though he was a mexican
Ruben the Cuban
Man, I wish we could see him again
But now he's gone
He died in the most peculiar way
He jumped right in front of
A bloody freight train
(Freight train)
Whoa Ruben
Dear Ruben
You will truly be missed
You'll surely never
Meet a man quite like this
I guess we'll never know
How exactly that he got hit
Coulda just been suicide
Or maybe he didn't notice it
(Because he's)
Ruben the Cuban
Even though he was a mexican
Ruben the Cuban
Man, I wish we could see him again
But everyone loved him even though he was insane
Eternal trip that he was on
Made sure his mind was always gone
Fried his brain accidentally
Now he sees everything mentally
Sweetest man that you could know
