Time Spent

When I was young, we'd stay up late and sneak outside
Sitting underneath the bleachers, writing songs to pass the time
I'm thinking to myself today, "I haven't seen my friends in years."
Too busy chasing dreams that may not come my way

What's taking so long?
I've lost all my sense of time
I try to tell myself I'll be alright
I'm at a point right now where I'll have to make it, or have to break it
But I don't know how

'Cause I'm five years behind where I need to be, and fading faster
Still don't have a clue of what I'm after
But who knows anyway?

What you see is mainly what you look for, this I know for surе
I'm cutting ties, to realize, I need to sеttle the score

I've been looking through the pages of my life trying to see
A way of turning back the clock, to find out who supposed to be
But I'm finding the answers, I think I might of always known them
How could I be so blind to see it?

But I'm finding the answers, I think I might of always known them
How could I be so blind to see it?
'Cause I'm five years behind where I need to be, and fading faster
Still don't have a clue of what I'm after
But who knows anyway?

What you see is mainly what you look for, this I know for sure
I'm cutting ties, to realize, I need to settle the score

And I can't seem to keep up with changes
Can't find a reason to believe
It's been weighing on mind for so long

And I can't seem to keep up with changes
Can't find a reason to believe
It's been weighing on mind for so long

It's been weighing on mind for so long

'Cause I'm five years behind where I need to be, and fading faster
Still don't have a clue of what I'm after
But who knows anyway?

What you see is mainly what you look for, this I know for sure
I'm cutting ties, to realize, I need to settle the score
