My Favourite Whiskey

When I was a kid, I grew up happy and carefree
But as I became older, my parents grew tired of me
So I left the house, but made sure I did carry
Both my favourite whiskey, and my favourite Pogues CD

Once I broke my neck, and was in hospital you see
The doctors were all nice, the nurses took well care of me
But after a few days, I was homesick as could be

Time off for myself, is enough to feel real free
Holidays abroad, they are not the thing for me
I'd rather stay at home, cause that's the place to be

Once my house it was on fire, smoke was all that I could see
Man that sure was mighty scary, panic took control of me
But when I had calmed down, I knew my priority

I was never keen on women, preferred to booze and to be free
Till I saw this pretty lassie, who madly fell in love with me
But she met this other bloke, big and tall and strong was he
So I took my favourite whiskey,and my favourite Pogues CD

I am bloody scared of sailing, I am a landlubber you see
Sailing haunts me in my sleep, it just is not the thing for me
A ship in my worst nightmare, sinks to the bottom of the sea

When Ileave this world, I go to heaven certainly
Never met someone who's been there,but it sounds good enough for me
No wish goes unfulfilled, so I am certain there to see
