The Mask
I see
Fast cars and
Nice watches
It's all the same to me
It
Amazes me
When
They hide behind these
Fast cars and
Nice watches
The mask is great to see
But can't replace your grief
Lord give me time to heal my soul
From all the wickedness
And ignorance
That twist and lift
When you finally gifted with arthrimatic
I sit in this
Apartment of mine
With thoughts of all of the times
Where material matter was gathered
To alter the mind of that mirror picture
Can't disrupt the abduction of demons
When they here to get ya
Behind that mask you'll
Spot yo soul
Do you fear that fixture?
I did when I was belly floppin' in liq
To switch the life that I lived
I ran away from the man that I am today
In pursuit of approval from pupils
Who could barely see themselves
Huntin' for food like lions
Makin' prey of my conscious
Seekin' plates from folks
Who could barely feed themselves
Committin' treason on this version of me
Too
Many of them floatin' out there
But tell me which is true
The old that they remember
Or the way you look at you
Either way remember God
In everything that you do
And you'll get through
I see
Fast cars and
Nice watches
It's all the same to me
It
Amazes me
When
They hide behind these
Fast cars and
Nice watches
The mask is great to see
But can't replace your grief
Lord give me time to heal my soul
From all the distractions
That could cause a reaction
And make me alter my passion
And get lost in the madness
From a smudge on the map
Neglectin' humbleness
By thinkin' I'm above where I'm at
I'm just a hometown hero
With dreams of goin' global
A small business owner
With dreams of goin' mogul
Lil page but
Dreams of a thousand hearts on my photos
While drivin' in the fog
Trying hard to stay hopeful
Workin' hard on my vocals
Even more on illustrations
A diamond in the rough
In the world of a million basics
While I
Forge me a lane
To pack a house when they offer my name
Need bills
So I'm Belichick
When I carve up the scheme
Until then
I'm just a man with a plan
A dollar and a dream
When you ask me what's in my hand
If they tell you that I'm crazy
Go tell them to go and play me
And the fattest middle finger
To anyone that degrade me
What you mean
I see
Fast cars and
Nice watches
It's all the same to me
It
Amazes me
When
They hide behind these
Fast cars and
Nice watches
The mask is great to see
But can't replace your grief
Lord give me time to heal my soul
They say the
Root of all evil is money
When the really the lack of it
Births the bug
And excites the ego
When fully acquired the
Love of the green back makes menances
Not the pursuit of happiness
Not the feelin' of freedom
Not the desire for somethin' higher
Not the discovery of your voice
Not the peak through of potential
Not yo drowiness of the normal
Not yo
Not yo fed up of the early morning get ups
To not be workin' on your set up
Not the breakin' of them 9 to 5 chains
Us modern day slaves
But the love
See I like my childhood woes
But I love my unborn children more
I like the man I am now
But love the king I'm becoming
I like my lady
But love the Queen brewin' within her
More than any temptation that creeps
In my development days
One
Hell of a raise
For this peasant life I presently reside in
No my
Drip ain't on Poseidon
But my minds out cravin' my own God of destiny
Honestly I'm not trying to be anything more
Than what my God desires
And to leave a legacy for my kin
Fast cars and
Nice watches
It's all the same to me
It
Amazes me
When
They hide behind these
Fast cars and
Nice watches
The mask is great to see
But can't replace your grief
Lord give me time to heal my soul
