Barren Road

Strangers chase toward a lengthy crossing no reward
It felt as though we were aligned
To justify a venture blind but things were cold
First stop lead to something bold
Best approach was starting new
Nothing seemed too hard to do

We take the reigns and move along
This barren road that we belong
If we return without the prize
Then nothing changes in our eyes

Further along we reached the rest
Filling time in place of rest
Talking cheap to make our mark
We played the bar till it got dark
To sit alone and fill my time
Headed home I'm thinking fine
If this is what it's going to be
I think it just might be for me

We take the reigns and move along
This barren road that we belong
If we return without the prize
Then nothing changes in our eyes

Navigate, don't hesitate
Keep this view right in front of me

We take the reigns and move along
This barren road that we belong
If we return without the prize
Then nothing changes in our eyes
