Let It Out

I used to keep my thoughts locked in cages
Till I received a book where I could write my rhymes in my pages
Telling my stories throughout my ages
Whether in perspective or reality on open mic stages
No one expected me to do rhyming and poetry
Just hoping others would recognize as they notice me
Felt so insecure to express it out openly
In front of strangers perfecting my skills socially
Back then wishing I was normal like the other kids
Always had a tutor in class, and that's just what it is
See my grades wasn't good enough
You see I understand well but to the teachers I was misunderstood
Now I drop knowledge, and I made it past college
I'm try'na be the best that I can be as an artist
I never said much, so now I speak from the heart
I have to let it all out like I releasing a fart
Ugh!

If you got something to say just let it out...
Don't hold it in because it's gonna stress you out...
If you got something to say just let it out...
Don't hold it in because it's gonna stress you out...

Never ever giving up is what I have accomplished and
I just wanna encourage the kids to stay positive
Supporting each other and refrain from the opposite
But yet I go through the same thing that's what the problem is
They see my smile but blind to the frown inside of me
I'm still going through depression and anxiety
Dealt with it privately, so I wrote it in my diary
Never shut me up cause I refuse to stay silent see
Listen I'm a be making clear of this
I don't need a teacher, I don't need to see a therapist
I don't need to share all my problems on social media
I rather say it right into your face when I'm greeting ya
Rather let you hear my hunger my pain in my music
Trials and tribulations, struggles I'm going through it
All I need is one pen, one pad, one mic
One beat, studio, booth just so I can lose it

If you got something to say just let it out...
Don't hold it in because it's gonna stress you out...
If you got something to say just let it out...
Don't hold it in because it's gonna stress you out...

Throughout my life, I was the type to get shy and nervous
But when I'm on the mic I'm a whole different person
Remember I was scared to express myself
In front of so much people so I test myself
To never be afraid of speaking your truth
Spread knowledge and wisdom by preaching your roots
Of where you coming from by teaching your youths
You gotta wake them up don't let them sleep up on you
Even if you're mad tired, see I plan to stack higher
I got the crowd praising for me like a mass choir
I had my concerns of others who wanna judge me
At the end of the day, I just wanna be loved see
When you hear me spit it, you better recommended it
I don't care about your feelings, I don't care if you're offended
I always kept it real and never had to pretended
To be something I'm not, and if I said it then I meant it

If you got something to say just let it out...
Don't hold it in because it's gonna stress you out...
If you got something to say just let it out...
Don't hold it in because it's gonna stress you out...
