The Little Things

I was trying to see you through my window on the street
I'd be lying if I told you that I didn't want to meet
'Cause the road's all around us but I've barely moved my feet
Since they told me to stay in and learn how my heart beats

So I'll grab the broom again, and dance like you're around
And I'll set two plates, and eat it all myself
And I'll clean my clothes, in the bathtub I guess
I'm doing pretty well with no one to impress

I was hoping to hear you in the birds that sing to me
In the alley every morning, as I'm takin' in some tea
'Cause I ran out of coffee, but the bag lasted two great weeks
And the less I feel alone, the more I love the little things

So I'll grab the broom again, and dance like you're around
And I'll set two plates, and eat it all myself
And I'll clean my clothes, in the bathtub I guess
I'm doing pretty well, with no one to impress
