Something Happened on the Way to Deepdale St.

Was on my way after grabbing something to eat
Driving down the road, holding burrito cargo
Thinking the whole time "Man this weekend was neat"
Turning round the bend
Is this how it all will end
It's true what they say 'bout your life
Flashing right before your eyes
Never get to say goodbye
I came to covered in glass and taco meat
Wedged behind the wheel, encased in jagged steel
The culprit watches, glaring from across the street
I get myself free, the start checking the body
Truck is totaled, mind is flustered
What is worse the Risk boards busted
Now I'm more than just a little bit angry

What in the hell am I talking about
Just walked away from something should of took me out
So glad the close call rainstorm didn't turn to drought
Lucky enough to get a day that ends like this
Surrounded by the ones you love after escaping death's kiss
We reminisced about side stepping disaster
Learned the truth there are fears left to master
Things don't need to go out to pasture because you put them down
So you put all your eggs in one basket
When they break don't treat it like a casket
Pick up the pieces of what's left and just begin again
We all know that our time is precious
And in a moment it could be gone forever
So spend it wise while we're all together
