Dusk and Dawn 6

I saw you took my picture from the frame
You might have picked the right path, sure you might
But, though at times your days might seem the same
Perspectives tend to alter in the night

Tonight when dusk and shadows fill your room
And thoughts are tinged with hollowness and fright
That cheerful wit may turn to woeful gloom
Through never-ending hours of the night

It seems to me we live in different times
In alternating shifts of black and white
Our hopes align with these perpetual rhymes
Confined within the turns of day and night

Remember how our hopes flew like a kite
In skies of blue and in the starry night

We are but fools for love, yes so it seems
We're moths forever circling 'round that light
Our days are filled with visions, dreams and schemes
All things that keep us longing through the night

It is the crooked thing this thing called love
And what we feel is rarely wrong or right
Yet, in our hearts it's what we're dreaming of
Within the dark detention of the night

So take this heart, it's your to keep for good
So take these wings and make the falt'ring flight
Have faith in me; I'm standing where I stood
I'll be right here to see you through the night

A different day is dawning, clear and bright
You'll see we two have made it through the night
