Plight of L'abeille

Traced flights of the bumblebee
Through canals and crooked streets
Off guard, it turned around and stung me

Felt sore, gained liberty
I got lured by melodies
That sirens sang with fingernail beats

Relief came, just a fleeting fix
Like liquor feels until it stomps and kicks
Now I've got a whole lot of new problems
That I have added to my mix
Love and lust both keep me sane
Distracting me from the world's current state

No style, I've got holes in my clothes
No more grit, a small comfort zone
And unsure what I condemn or condone

Then one day, like an epiphany
A voice appeared so soft and sweet
Could you foresee us sharing destinies

I don't know, it doesn't cross my mind
It feels strange I used to all the time
But memories have been ignored and decomposed
I thought you and i were confined
To days you tried to find yourself
And told me that our love was on the highest shelf
