100 Years

There are a 100 years
Of loneliness on the table top
Obscuring a guitar pick
That I forgot that I have got

A Chinese menu of the takeaway
Tells me I am hungry tonight
Your scent dissolving in the air
Tells me you won't be by my side

Hours pass in silent solitude
While I tell you what to do
Your photos all around the room
Proof you had better things to loose

They look at me, day after day
The photos and the takeaway
Your smell evaporates
And like you will never stay

Will we ever see face to face again
And will we ever become undone?
Out of sync and out of tune
With nothing left to loose

There are a 100 years
Of loneliness on the table top
Obscuring a guitar pick
That I forgot that I have got
