Waterfall

I'm patient for the rains
My groundwater runs deep
And still the winds of change
Keep howling at my feet

I'm laying it down I know you're picking it up
Projecting back my dreams
No where to run no where to hide from it all
Because I just can't stop a waterfall

Is this the twilight zone
Someplace familiar yet alien
I'm walking city streets
Towards a siren's call

I miss the caribou who fed me their blood
When mine was low
I miss the frozen seas of white and snowlight
But I just can't stop a waterfall

Maybe I'm a time traveller travelling
Destination unknown
And if I'm a time traveller travelling
I've never been this
I've never been this far from home

I'm trying to paint a picture
With the colours of the rainbow
While everyone is telling me
There's only black and white now
I wanna wrap your fur around me
Feed the hunger feed the hungry
But the food chain's broken down
The missing links cannot be found

I'm feeding the fire
With my desire
I'm asking the gods to answer my call
I've got my finger in the dike but it's slipping fast
I just can't stop
A waterfall

Is this the twilight zone
Someplace familiar yet alien
