Commonplace

Tomorrow seems just like a story
That is waiting to be told
While today is simply watching
For a hand to reach and slowly turn the page
To set the story free
To bring forth the whisper of the wind
And answer back the murmurs of the sea

The future seems just like a flower
That is ready to unfold
While the present is just waiting
For the sun to peak and open up it's cage
To set the flower free
To release the fragrant mystery
Of what's to come and all that's still to be

And though the glitter of tomorrow
Makes today seem without end
I find that quiet moments
Can become a friend
Whose touch recalls the light
And sets your worries free
Revealing in the commonplace
The glories found in your reality

Here in the commonplace

Tomorrow, the future, commonplace
