The Fox and the Lion

Coming back from Hartford
Earlier today
Pilot blokes and security folks
Were there to send us on our way

The fox was running about
Wearing the spider's frozen web
His brother the lion had one of his own
Strewn atop his head

I search my own paw only to find
A piece that's minuscule
But I surely know that among my crew
This is something that'll make me cool

The man in the box says if we go hard
We just might have a chance
Of making it deep, of going far
Of kicking ass in the Big Dance

I'm thinking
Maybe we're peakin'

That maybe we're at
The front of the line
That maybe we're having
The best time
That we will never
Feel like this again
That maybe this, is the end

No matter how bad you lose
Or how big you win
At the end of the day you're gonna come on home
Where there's always room at the inn

The truth hits hard when it's heaviest
And that's when it's what you always knew
The only question left to ask is
What now do we do

Shall I wear the mask of a friendly snake
And slither through the grass
Or should I rile and beguile with a venomous smile
And make off with a pretty lass

Should I patiently wait for a perfect storm
To carry me to where I want to go
Or should I start right now and see progress sewn
On the path that's long and hard and slow

I'm thinking
Maybe we're peakin'

That maybe we're at
The front of the line
That maybe we're having
The best time
That we will never
Feel like this again
That maybe this, is the end

But we're still here
We will stay
'Til you've heard
What we have to say

That we will be at
The front of the line
That maybe we're having
The best time
We'll feel far greater
Than we ever did before
We'll know there's room
For so much more

We're still here (at the front of the line)
We will stay (having the best time)
We will feel (far greater than we did before)
We'll know there's room for so much more
