Gravestone Graveyard

Now my fears are coming clear
The severed headstone above what lies beneath
A box engraved with your name
This tombstone tells wonders

A collection of dates
And often quite ostentatious
Manifestation
Of the shell inhabited by this mask of a man
I've seen the pit they dig
A new perspective to put you in
Still it's almost as if I knew you

Metal petals and all
You embodied the body of someone I used to know
It took me by surprise
To see myself inside
Yesterday your iron rose sounded so clear
Serenity save the souls of all who sleep here

Some of these stone catacombs are closer to me than I know
My mausoleum isn't built, but I saw them dig a hole
