Faraway Places

She went out and away for Summer
She went out, when her hair was longer
Even left, long ago
And it went that way, through the Summer
She would come home late, and mother
Would never wait at home
Faraway places, she'd roam

Now she calls in late, if she calls at all
Her thoughts are big, but her talk is small
Thought she, had it all
And she went outside and looked around
Didn't recognize anyone in town
When she goes to sleep, she's awake
Going far away places, today

I, won't see you anymore
I, won't see you anymore, anymore

She don't wander much anymore
Hardly take herself down to the store
And now she waits until they come home
And the phone rings, and it's her
Just calling to see, if she'd heard
About the time love came around
Faraway places, unwound

One day, they'll meet again
Smiling faces, best of friends
And they'll trade away the day
Far away places, remain
