Old Friends

I try to avoid old friends
Hide them in drawers
Like odds and ends
Can't seem to throw em' away
They might come in use someday

Does anyone really know anyone?
When we all have a past to outrun

I write letters that I'll never send
Hide them in drawers
So I can pretend
Everyone knows how I feel
And they still love me cause it aint no big deal
All those promises I never kept
Diaries full of regrets
People I wish I could be
We do the strangest things when lonely

Does anyone really know anyone?
When we all have a past to outrun

I want to know what they'll think when I'm gone
I want to know what they thought all along
Does anyone really know anyone?
When we all have a past to outrun
