Garden in the Heart of the City

Went down to the garden in the heart of the city
It's easy to miss when everyone's busy
But now I got time
I got time today
But pretty flowers always seem to wilt away

Went down to the garden but there's nothing there
Just a couple empty benches in an empty square
The cherry blossoms already hit the ground and lost their flair
But no one seemed to noticed and nobody seemed to care
I can still smell the flowers hanging in the air
With closed eyes you would've thought that they were everywhere
But the pink and whites were gone and there was none to spare
They'll grow back but in the moment I was unaware

I'll keep it simple I don't want to complicate things
There was no middle either side of me was caving
I tried to fix the wrong but there was just no saving
All of the art was gone I couldn't see the paintings
I could still be waiting
