That was the year I let my friend practice on my skin at tattoos

I desperately wanted to be badass, but I was a goob

Now I think of 16 year olds doing drugs and it's really not okay
And you don't wanna hear it, that your brains are still developing
But now I'd save my younger self from spiraling-- spiraling

Here's the thing, I didn't actually do that many drugs
I don't regret them that much-- I regret my then-crushing need to be liked and loved
Coolness doesn't come from tattoos or experience
It comes from being honest about how you make your mess
