I Still Cling to the Old Rugged Cross

As a child back in Sunday school
I learned this simple truth
Jesus died to take my sins away
And I can still remember when
He changed my life way back then
And the cross is just as real to me today

I still believe in the power
Of the blood Jesus shared on Mount Calvary
And I still hold to the hope
That He's gone to prepare a dwelling place for me
And I still cling to the promise
That there's still forgiveness for the lost
I still believe, I still hold and I still cling to the old rugged cross

Some may say I'm old enough to stand
Without holding His hand
But with each passing day I need Him more
For He's become my everything
And that's the reason why I cling to Calvary and all the cross stands for

I still believe in the power
Of the blood Jesus shared on Mount Calvary
And I still hold to the hope
That He's gone to prepare a dwelling place for me
And I still cling to the promise
That there's still forgiveness for the lost
I still believe, I still hold and I still cling to the old rugged cross

And I still cling to the promise
That there's still forgiveness for the lost
I still believe, I still hold and I still cling to the old rugged cross
The cross
