Have I Returned?

Can I get back to the place that I left
Falling down first then up, am I returned to my soul
First one, the cynic, the actor, the sketchbook
A flash to the present time in waves, but

Time is exponential
Laughed as I hit the table
Time is moving when we're upside down
Time is black and white and read by candlelight, and
Time is waiting at the top still

Have I returned to my hands on the ceiling
Floored by the movement of the sea around me
Ten down, the sick one, the sketchbook, the actor
The voice at the top too snide to see that

Time is incremental
Laughed as I hit the table
Time is moving when we're falling up
Time is black and white and read by firelight, and
Time is waiting at the end
