Positivity of a Pessimist

Look, you can't snooze an alarm on the body clock
Waking up and my heart's like probably not
Chant a mantra to learn a language like a polyglot
But I'm yet to understand what I've properly got
I see the screens full of stats and curves
Some more attacks and slurs
The raw facts that hurt
And then I'm back to earth
Feeling so detached from this very patch of dirt
Said It's hot worldwide, not a storm that breaks
Targeted minorities like it's formulaic
It's like the cycle repeats in the former lane
Till our reality's a drug in the form we take
I ain't ever witnessed colder shoulders frozen emotions
Substituted with emojis maybe we're in the wrong river
In the right canoe so like Camus
I'mma smile while I eternally roll

Said I'm tryna see, a little more in this cup
And I try to please everyone, if only that was enough
What if I'm shocked by the blindness that I have defined
What if I'm rocked by the violence and lies of the mind
What if I'm lost but I'm trying, I know I'll still smile

Now this is what you get when you mix the positivity of a pessimist
With a bit of possibility and a precedent that is set on the betterment
Instead of resenting everything that I've considered irrelevant
Just for once tryna tame the cynic in me
No need to blame this or that, do away with gritting my teeth
Through tears and cheers from ear to ear
The fear is always here, I still hear it tick
But I ain't in the mood for a feed today
I'd rather make breakfast and eat, while I ease the pain
Trade a scroll for stroll in the street and maybe just
Breathe in the breeze from the trees of age

Do your best to believe but never to seem important
