The Roots of My Family

Well Momma and Daddy use to Travel around
Which put me being born in a small Northern town
So I grew up not knowing who I Really was
And no one would tell me just where I came from
So as I got older I traveled around Searching for something I thought
Would never be found
Until that day in Kentucky on a hill Called Hightop the names on the Tombstones hit me like a rock
The name on the Tombstones hit me Like a rock

Though the roots of my family ly Deep in the ground
Their Spirits fly with me when ever I'm down like Guardian Angels sent From above they save me from the Devil with all of their love save me From the Devil with all of their Love

When I'm feeling troubled and life's Got me down or if I'm on a back Road I know I shouldn't be down I Think back to ole hightop and the Answers i found and i open my Heart to who i felt all around i open My heart up to who i felt all around

Though the roots of my family ly Deep in the ground their spirits fly With me whenever I'm down like Guardian Angels sent from above They save me from the Devil with all Of their Love
Save me from the Devil with all of Their love
Though the roots of my family ly Deep in the ground their Spirits fly With me whenever I'm down like Guardian Angels sent from above They save me from the Devil with all Of their love
Save me from the Devil with all of their love
