What's Been Coming

Always had high hopes as a kid
But I had no plan
Didn't know if I could do it
Stuck in a town near Akron, Ohio
Playing crappy shows at the Gyro

Mom said, "You need a change of scenery"
Dad shed a tear as he hugged me goodbye
Knowing I would make my mark
But it's just the start of a war I'll fight 'til I die

Some say I'm never gonna make it
But what does that mean now?
At least I'm making moves
I'm doing better than them
I'm getting out of my hometown

This is for all the kids back home
With hopes and dreams just like my own

Been here for a little while
Can't seem to find my scene or style
I know what they think and it might be fair
